Well, IMO sites that have admins (and/or super-) mods or even (master) designers overthere should ban them regardless of subscription and/or status. I know that Hailstorm from r1db staff uses his own nick at at least one other coversite (not hrc or r1db). At least that could put some pressure on jayhawk?

forgot to mention:

This is an outtake of the thread overthere:

Howcome you don't accept wishes from the designer's if they kindly ask you to delete their covers from this site? I've seen my own covers posted here without my consent.

- Why is it that you continue to disregard the designer's wishes?

Secondly, it is your policy here that keep designers as myself, and others I know of, away from your site. I used to upload my work here, but that stopped as soon as I learned of this outrageous policy.

Still waiting for a response overthere.

... and not surprisingly, this was his reply:

I'm not sure I understand your question. The policy has been the same, whenever you had contributed/joined.

This argument has been beat to death year in and year out.

We differ on how things should work. I'd like to keep it free, and it looks like this could become a reality again soon again.

well Kernie it's your decision but hat really sucks, just look at how many downloads your covers have gotten.

They actually haven't gotten that many downloads. The current, popular "it" titles get downloads because they're new, but I've looked at some of the download counts on covers I've spent hours on and usually it's less than 20. The amount of comments or ratings (feedback that keeps me motivated) is usually even less. Besides a few hardcore fans, my comic book collection doesn't get as many hits as one might think.

I was hoping to buy and then use your incredible hulk TV series covers.

I'm sure you can find stolen versions on some other site... :(

I'd hope maybe at the least you might consider pm request for existing artwork to people or some people and maybe that will help you keep track.

Sorry, but PMing for covers will cause a major headache. I'll either open the gallery up again or nothing.

I appreciate the support, but like kylumi did recently, I'm questioning why I bother doing this anymore. It's certainly not for the money, if anything, I've lost a lot of money buying credits/subscriptions at sites where there are hi-res resources. This whole issues has just left me bummed and frustrated.

I'm sorry you feel that way Kernie. Would be a shame if you hung up your "brush"

I know it is frustrating JR, but as you can see jayhawk doesn't need to keep the Designers happy. His thieves will just steal your covers.

I am sure I can speak for all of us when I say the staff of HiRes, CM, and Fuzion are working hard to solve this recent rash of theft.

I trust you bring the news to the tcw staff room too? I know that Hailstorm is a subscriber overthere ;)

making it free because no one pays to go there...thats why he steals, to try to make the site look up to date and worth paying for

I'm sorry to hear that Kernie, I'm a big fan of your covers as well, I became active on this site after seeing your X-Men and Batman animated series covers. It'd be a shame to see you quit just because some as$holes are reuploading your covers everywhere.
I know making covers for these sites isn't the most rewarding job in the world, but if your anything like me I'm sure as a movie enthusiast and designer that you must enjoy mixing the two in this hobby and I can't see cover theft as a strong enought reason to see you quit. It's obviously your choice, but it'd be a damn shame :(

It's sad to hear that Kernie, I hope to change your mind because i use your wonderful comic's covers, and i'm always exciting to see your work, and of course i don't make any cover but i can understand you.

Sorry for my English, I'm French.
