That sounds like great news Fubster, I sincerely hope everything works out with your method of tracking these low lifes.
If Jayhawk was anywhere near a decent kind of a guy then he'd give either Bazzah or Fubster the IP address of this reprobate and although I've had no contact with him personally from what I've read and heard I'd say it's infinitely more likely that I'll see the second coming than that ever happening.

Every few months, this topic comes to mind, and I try to find a way to protect our designers. Each time that I think I have a new methodology of handling this situation, I run up against some roadblock that makes it impossible to continue. About three weeks ago, I again thought of a new way to handle it. I spent some time this evening (setting aside the other work I had planned) to work through some prototypes, and so far, it has held up. So far, no roadblocks have appeared. I am starting to gain some confidence that I may have stumbled across a methodology that may actually work!
Now, to you thieves out there: don't expect some grand announcement when I put this into place. I am serving you notice right here and now: If you share something you've downloaded from our site with ANYONE ELSE, you WILL BE BANNED! Any announcement I make will only be visible to our designers...you will have no idea it was implemented.

GOT IT?! GOOD!
You tell em boy... Ooo yeah
I just sent bazzah a pm but someone just went ona frenzy and uploaded a ton of kernie's comic blu-rays covers giving him credit this time but I still don't think he wanted them there.
I also found the matching labels and two wanted covers by marker and Mr.Henrydog uploaded over there. I sent jayhawk a pm and posted something in their forum hopefully they'll get tired of fixing the names and just crack down.

WOW. I wrote a whole positive message about being understanding, then I went onto R1DB...
Today I made this comment on my "stolen" covers: "This cover, like all of my Blu-ray covers, can be found for free at bunnydojo.com/blog" That's all. No request for any action to be taken, no anger, no negativity. What happened? The comments were removed and I was downgraded from Master Designer to Limited for linking to an external site. I no longer have access.
All of my covers are still there (
), but, when logged in, I am unable to view any part of the site.
Here's my original post. I still believe it.

QUOTE (Optimistic Bunny Dojo)
For what it's worth, I'm sure most of these people are okay in real life.
Some involved may just be excited to share without considering repercussions. If a guy at R1DB wishes he had a cover for Pluto Nash and I know there's a Pluto Nash cover on here, I'm probably going to share it. If he's thankful, I may start to develop the idea that adding covers from here to R1DB is a valuable service.
If Jayhawk lacks cooperation in stopping the practice, it's because he thinks (or thought in the past) that we're making covers using "stolen" materials, so what right do we have to call our covers "stolen?" He likes that people are sharing. And I assume he doesn't mind receiving a profit for his good deeds.
I'm sure everyone in this thread has watched a downloaded film at least once over the past decade, and maybe 10% or more do so regularly. Is the person or site you get the film from a source of evil, or is it someone doing you a favor and sharing a cool movie with you? I realize it isn't a 1:1 comparison, but it's close enough.
I don't condone any of it or think highly of, say, Jayhawk for letting it go on. But if half the people don't care about your reaction and the other half don't even realize the problem, the likelihood of positive change is limited. Knowing Fubster, he has a few clever tricks up his sleeve, but a supplementary course of action might just be to delight in this community and enjoy that it's a celebration of creativity and friends sharing a love of movies and design rather than merely a cover repository.[/quote]

Okay , so I know I will put some noses out of joint, but frankly I don't care. As far as I'm concerned, the only thing worse than a thief is person who creates a haven for thieves.
There is a thread on R1DB where some HiRes members want to address the uploading without permission issue. The mods respond with a figurative "throwing up of the hands" with a what can we do attitude.
Well gee, I don't know either .....
..... wait a minute, maybe when you are informed the cover was stolen, you remove it, ban the thief, and give the IP, username, and E-mail address to the Staff of the site they stole it from. That could be what you could do.
No I am not on drugs, I was being sarcastic.
I'm new to the scene, only been around for a couple of years, so I don't know jayhawk as well as some of you do. But I can tell you this, those of you who think you will get satisfaction from him don't know him that well either.
Here is a quote from the R1DB thread address the uploading without permission issue. The statement was made by jayhawk on 27 October 2010:
So I guess that answers the question about stolen covers on R1DB, jayhawk doesn't care where they came from. Sad, isn't it.
'nuff said.

And they consequently spell his name wrong: Kerine82
Are they doing that on purpose?

Since someone at R1DB has just uploaded a bunch of my other covers and credited me incorrectly as kerine82 (based on one of RRJR's typos), I have set my albums here to be viewed by "Me only." The next step will be deleting them entirely if this persists...

that's really ashamed
kernie but I understand where your coming from and sorry for any typos. I know myself and everyone else here absolutely love your work as I've stated time and time again that's the reason for joining hires.
At least for the time being no more of yours cover can be taken, since jayhawk just care , I pm RickT the supermod of the site in hopes of getting this rectified. I hope you don't have or want to delete your gallery as i've been a another crazy binge and replacing a lot of my covers with yours again.
