I'm not very versed on this issue. But two things you should look into:
1. Calibrating your monitor display. It might be as simple as the image on your LCD having too much brightness, contrast etc.
2. Making sure the color profile between your monitor and printer are in harmony.

Google monitor/printer color profiles for more info.

I don't know if I'm in the right place posting this, but I got serieous problem in my cover making on my new laptop.

I have this cover I just made. It looks great on my new laptop, but when viewing it on paper after printing and on other computer screens it's really dark! I really had to boost the brightness and the contrast since I also had a gradient background that wasn't showing at all on paper. So now the cover looks rubbish on my laptops LCD screen. And the problem with those is that if you sit too high, it's bright. And if you sit too low it's dark. And of course the angle of the screen matters.

Someone else here had the same problem and can help me out with a good solution? 'Cause this is driving me crazy!
