I've read some of the comments on imdb myself and find that I agree with a lot of them. For me there's way too much focus on that she's a lesbian (we live in 2019 so who cares). Spoilers ahead: Spoiler BlockSo she gets dumped by a girl she meets in the crow school (army type thing) and then goes away for some time, where she's trained by an indian fella (all we see is a scene where she has to find away out from underneath an ice layer above the water (not really much actual "training" like in Batman Begins for instance), then she gets noticed that her ex (the girl that dumped her) has been kidnapped, so she hurry's back to Gotham to try and save her (saving the girl that dumped her and got her thrown out of the crow school). When she arrives back she easily breaks in to Bruce Wayne's apartment, where the son of Lucius Fox is ofc "holding the fort down". She notices that a statue in the bookshelf is not standing where it used to, so she moves it a little to where it "used to stand" and there you have the secret entrance to the batcave, how convenient. Bruce is ofc her cousin (does this even make any sense?). Anyways, when she was little she was in a car accident with her sister and Batman tried to save them, by shooting a hook into the trunk of the car and then to the railing on the bridge, Ruby managed to get out of the car, but her sister didn't so she's assumed dead. Her sister is ofc alive and has now turned evil, she is also the one who kidnapped ruby's ex, to get back at her father for giving up on looking for her (even tho he looked for months and finally gave up when they found skull fragments of her in the water). The show is a cringe fest, the voice over editing is imo extremely bad, there's a lot of stupidity (she's at a party, the bartender (a girl which she briefly talks to) tells her she's good at reading people etc. Ruby then leaves to confront the guy who stole a gun from Bruce Wayne (which Luke Fox said "Whoever has the gun can kill batman" (it's the only gun that can penetrate the batsuite), like really? you can't just shoot him in the face (mouth/eyes to be specific). Elevators start falling, Batwoman saves people, the guy who stole the gun almost takes her out as she's struggling to climb back up from the elevator shaft, but her sister (who's now evil) saves her. Some time passes by and she enters the main entrance of the building as herself (not batwoman) she sees the bartender and calls out her name, ask if she's okay etc (like they have been together for years), the bartender ofc says I could tell you were into me from the start, bla bla bla.. So now it looks like she has a new girlfriend (or at least soon) and her ex looks jealous as she sees the two of them together. There's just so much that's bad that I struggle to find anything positive, I haven't given completely up yet, but I have my doubts it will get any better.
Would be nice if you guys who like the show could point out some of the things you think are very positive and great about the show, maybe I've missed something. I have no clue about how Batwoman came about or if any of the story in the show actually makes any sense (are all of these characters actually related/did the crow lesbian accident really happen/did she really just get some simple training from an indian fella and so on)..
