Thank you for this post. We honestly do love the feedback, and do our best to make everyone happy.
A couple of site hints that may help out in all of these areas:
The new "look and feel" that we added to the site was nothing more than installing a new skin, and then setting it as the default skin. The old skin is still available (and two others), if you prefer. At the very bottom of the page, you will see these two dropdowns:

The left one is a skin chooser, and there are four listed:
Hirescovers - this is the old default, and puts the site back to the way it was for you.
Black Crystals - almost identical layout as Hirescovers, just different colors.
vRocking - Our "dark" skin, if you choose it, you will see what I mean.
I-Tab - the new default. This is the ONLY skin that has the forums/subforums arranged in "tabs" - which is what I believe is making it hard to find your favorite forum.
(If others are finding the tab format on the forums hard to navigate, even now after getting used to it, please let us know. We really like this "look", but if the "feel" is not working, maybe we can do something about it.)
As sauron mentioned, the site logo in the upper left hand corner of all the forum pages is clickable - and takes you back to our home page:

In case you want to "just go back a little bit", there are "breadcrumbs" that allow you to find you way back. For instance, when reading this article, the breadcrumbs look like this:

Clicking on "Site Suggestions" will take you to that forum, a lit of all the articles in the "Site Suggestions" forum. That is the forum that contains this article.
Clicking on "Discussions" will take you to THAT forum, which will show a list of all sub forums and (if the "Discussions" forum allows it) a list of articles in that forum.
Clicking on "Hirescovers.net" will take you to the main forum page. This is the same as the menu option Community Links|Forums. Notice that it is not the same as the home page.
I hope this reply helps - and please continue to post your feedback on the site.
Thanks!
