This is wonderful, thank you Baz and the HiRes team for the feature! I really hope I can make covers again someday soon. I know I make my Academy covers every year, but an all new design would be awesome!

Thank you also to everyone for the kind words. A special thanks to Speed and Bunny for the especially wonderful words! I always tried to throw out the rules when making covers. Although it wasn't everyone's cup of tea, it was my favorite part of being a cover designer. Just like all of us, we get to make our designs whatever we want!

Cheers!

So many great covers to choose from.

Here are three that haven't been mentioned that I really like.

Congrats on being designer of the week bpmford!

This is a truly stunning cover in my opinion, brilliant design idea and execution, the glass looks amazing as well. All in all a superb cover and a very worthy winner of the HRC.

Fantastic work creating a journal type of look with the paper textures. Awesome idea using the island as a silhouette and great job on the characters on the front. The back is also looking great with and the text has a really hand written feel to it, looks very realistic.

There's not much to work with for this cover, but I must say that you did a very impressive job, the green and brown colors work great together. Great work on the background of the front as well and the template as a whole. Great work with the ropes :)

Congrats bpmford. Great art designs, very cool. Like your covers, exspecially the yet mentioned ones. But also great covers are:

Awesome Cover

Perfect coloring and design.

Cool style, that fits exactly to the movie.

Fantastic designs. Surprising layouts, great eye for details. All things that describe Brad as an artist. This guy has made so many great covers, it’s hard to choose just a few!

So many amazing covers and unique styles. His Shutter Island cover is one of my favourites.

Some of the best covers go beyond creating a nice image and make you think, "Wow, the designer seems to like this movie so much, it must be something special!" Even if the movie -- or even the design itself -- isn't your usual style, the excitement on display is just too contagious. Looking as his gallery again, Bpmford's movie picks and design styling are all over the place, and so much of it works so well because of the talent and honest enthusiasm he's able to bring.

One exciting thing about Bpmford's covers was/is his tendency to defy conventions, like shaking up the canvas on his early cover for Pandorum:

Not content to just shake up the canvas, he cut it up as well on his Batman collection:

When you're trying something different, it's very helpful if you can find a way of conveying that you know what you're doing, like by savoring all sorts of little details. His cover for Going the Distance is a great example of this:

And, of course, there's the story of how he made his own font to complete his Cover Site Battle Royal-winning design for The Artist:
