If you're organised (if not you should be) and are using folders in your layers, sometimes if you have a lot of folder it can be hard to find the folder you're after so an easy way to close them all is by holding Ctrl/Cmd and clicking on the down arrow
Before:
[attachment=44328:layer_fo...s_before.jpg]
After:
[attachment=44329:layer_fo...rs_after.jpg]
