I think you stepped back from your last post to the version you had in the post before it, not the direction I would have went but as Baz said it's your work, so whatever you want to do.
I'm not one who will say I like it or it's an improvement unless I feel it actually is, so I'm not commenting on this last update.
I will say this, the final cover will directly reflect the amount of effort you put into it, for better or for worse lol.
How successful a cover turns out in my opinion, is not determined by comparing it to what others have done but by evaluating whether is was the best effort the person making it could have made.
