New User Gallery Setting has been added for changing the Disc Upload default to Blu-ray.

Great idea with the user setting CT, thank you :)

When I get time I'll see about adding "Use Blu-ray by Default" on new label uploads.

Will be a new setting added to the "user settings" on the above menu :)

Thanks something we have considered.

Bazzah wrote:QUOTE (Bazzah @ Jun 6 2018, 02:31 PM) When you upload a cover or label, the system tries to ascertain the best album for your artwork. However, it uses the dimensions of your cover or label, so it can't always get this right. For example, a label is sized between 1400x1400 and 1600x1600. The system looks at this, and selects the album 'DVD Custom Labels'. Therefore you will need to select the correct album, if you are uploading a BluRay or UltraHD label. This is the same for BluRay covers. If you are uploading an Ultra HD cover, it will be defaulted to the 'Custom Bluray Cover' album. You will need to change this to the 'Blu-ray 4k UHD Custom Covers' album.</br> The system then looks at the title, and selects the appropriate album (a-z, 0-9). Please also note, that items uploaded with the title beginning with 'The' will not be uploaded to the 'T' album. For example, a label for 'The Hitman's Bodyguard' would be placed in the 'H' album.
Why not bluray as default on labels??

HiRes Upload Tips

Keywords

Keywords are used to aid search and help members find what they are looking for. Keywords should only contain words that are not already included in the image information. Keywords should not contain information such as the title, image type or uploaders name, as this information is already included in the search and therefore is unnecessary. So, when do you need to use keywords? The keywords are useful for adding alternative spellings of words, such as numbers. For example, if you upload a cover for a movie called '3%', you should add keywords 'three' and 'percent'. This way, a search will display your cover, if the member searching uses an alternative spelling.

File Titles

File Titles should only contain the name of the movie, and nothing else. There is no need to add your member name etc, as this information is already contained in the default search criteria. And did you know, you can set the File Title to auto-complete using your images filename? If it isn't already working for you, then you can switch it on by going to your 'User Setting's within the gallery.

Auto Album Select

When you upload a cover or label, the system tries to ascertain the best album for your artwork. You will need to change this to the 'Blu-ray 4k UHD Custom Covers' album.
However, if you primarily upload Blu-ray labels, you can select 'Use Blu-ray for Disc Uploads'. This setting can be found in User Setting, from within the gallery. The system then looks at the title, and selects the appropriate album (a-z, 0-9). Please also note, that items uploaded with the title beginning with 'The' will not be uploaded to the 'T' album. For example, a label for 'The Hitman's Bodyguard' would be placed in the 'H' album.

300dpi

All covers and labels MUST be uploaded at 300dpi. This is so the image prints to the correct size. If you are having problems saving a file at 300dpi in Photoshop, and keeping it below the 10mb threshold, then please try this:

Save your cover or label in Photoshop, using the Save For Web option (CTRL + ALT + SHIFT + S).
Open the saved cover or label jpg into Photoshop (It will now be 72dpi).
Select Image -> Image Size, from the top menu. In the image size window, take note of the current dimensions (ie 3118 px x 1748 px).
Change the Resolution from 72 Pixels/Inch to 300. This will also resize the Dimensions, so now change the resolution back to what it originally was (ie 3118 px x 1748 px). Your image size should now be the correct resolution and 300dpi.
Now all you have to do is save as normal (File - Save As - JPEG and Quality 10). Your image should now be a fraction of its original filesize, but still the exact same quality.

File size

Files are restricted to 10mb. This is because there is no difference in quality of an image between a 30mb file and a 5mb file, if saved correctly. Photoshop includes a lot of unnecessary information when saving jpg's, which can create incredibly large files. If this is happening to you, then please try the solution above, for 300dpi files.

Language

When uploading a cover or label, the Language is defaulted to English. If you are uploading a cover or label which has a different language, please select that from the drop down menu.
