Acoustica CD/DVD label maker is pretty solid. Has plenty of disk type and printer templates for direct disc printing. I have a Cannon Pixma IP4950 and Cannon label printing software is not great at all

same here, Acoustica is the perfect software for the job....
easy alignment adjustable if the discs printing surface isnt perfectly centered, many templates, i'm using ver 3.33 with my canon pixma ip4700

I used Acoustica when I printed labels., Very easy to use.

Same here, I have a Canon Pixma 4950, and I cannot for the life of me understand why they replaced a perfectly useable program, with one that takes 10 times longer to use with a worse result! As I design most of my own labels, I too deleted the new program and went back to CD LabelPrint, where I have squeezed all possible functionality out of it. I use Taiyo Yuden -R's, and they print with a barely visible edge - you have to look closely to see the difference between them and a standard gloss printable dvd with an 118 mm edge.

Good luck with finding another program - I never tried the Epson, but I believe some Brother printers can print CDs & DVDs, and surely they must have their own program?

No worries mate, I've never used the Epson one was so was just curious, cheers :)

Not much more functionality really. I guess I just miss the ease of use of Epson Print CD (and the GUI), especially the ease of resizing the label artwork over the "template" and resizing the CD/DVD dimensions (outer diameter & and size of the hole) was easier. CD Label Print also limits the outer diameter to 118mm, no big deal really (my Taiyo Yuden's are 119mm).

Don't get me wrong, CD Label Print is what I'm using, it works just fine. The point of starting this thread was just to see what other label printing software was available, and I appreciate the input! :thumb:

Yeah I found canon label print before I started this thread, it's actually called CD Label Print. I've been using it and it sure beats the PIXMA software, but it's very limited in functionality.

Yes that's the time, I use it all the time and it's good for just printing labels, what other functionality are you looking for?

Sorry for taking so long to get back on this... email notification seems broken on this site. At any rate thanks for your suggestions!

Have you tried surething?
http://www.surething.com/

Looks like a great app, cost $$$, but I'll definitely check it out, thanks!

do a google search for canon label print, that's the one I've used for years and hate the new one too, I just looked for the old one and found it quick, all good, works great with my ip4950

I heard of a program called UndercoverXP, dunno if it exists anymore, but it should be very easy to use. :)

Yes, Google finds it. Can be downloaded Here or Here. I'll install it and let you know what I think. Thanks!
