Great work to all designers and a special congratulations to Kylumi for an amazing cover!

Judging was difficult and time-consuming, but also a lot of fun to see so much creativity and talent on display!

Shame on the judges who failed to leave comments on each cover as instructed. Every designer obviously put a lot of time and effort into their work... the least a judge could do is provide adequate feedback and justifications for his/her ratings.

Also, a big thanks to Tim for hosting another great competition at the beautifully-revamped MR Covers! You're a class act all the way and a major asset to the cover community!

Thank you my friend :arms:

But i will pick myself up and carry on and try not to make those same mistakes..

It was a hard competition... many great designs.
Someone add to win and someone add to be in last.
Pick yourself up but don't change your style cas that what made a designer unique from others.

Congrats to all for the effort and Tim for hosting the competition :thumb:

Wrapping things up, one more Thank You goes out to everyone who participated in and followed along with the competition this year. :)

I know I'm not alone is saying that, at various times, my Top 3 was actually made up of the three entries from this site. They formed an incredible trio that somehow didn't resonate with the judges as fully as expected. There's no question that HiRes will be back with a vengeance next year, ready to reclaim its property.

I thought so too JR, as far as i could tell from the preview yours stood out to me as one of the top covers.

I have no problem with any of the judges comments, they did a great job! Tim has done an exceptional job hosting the contest once again and i am delighted for those who placed highly.. i feel gutted for those who did not.

Yet again in competition i failed to produce a cover that was a contender. I felt pretty low and so you begin to think about what went wrong and where you are as a designer, and that didn't make me feel any better :) But i will pick myself up and carry on and try not to make those same mistakes..

What Kernie said! :)

I'd also like to see the pdf with all the judges comments if possible.

do we get to know the actual point score from first to last?

Yes sir. PM with what you'd like (poll results, the excel score sheet, the score cards .pdf), and I'll reply with the link(s).

One thing I did not like at all, some judges did not express any comment on all or some cover ... Honestly, there was plenty of time to make a judgment. and artists have worked hard, so I found it a bit offensive ... Although many judges wrote really great comments, very professional.
Some of the judges had incredibly involved and respectful scoring processes described at length but were a little bashful in their comments. But I imagine you're right that others took the opportunity for providing feedback a bit lightly or underestimated the amount of time involved.

A Battle Royal next year would probably involve fewer judges (alongside the community vote) and the opportunity for each artist to describe their cover/concept a little, just to make sure that everyone is on the same page.
