You could always upload them to the resource gallery, where you will get a preview :) Or yes, you can edit it in downloads, and add your own preview file.

I've uploaded a few of these and it takes me to a page where I can download the file, but then it has an avatar saying No image. Was wondering how to add an preview image to the file so you can actually view it prior to download. I couldn't seem to figure it out. Maybe I'm old and senile now.
