If you look at the top of the page, ven0m, mate, you will see it says "Hirescovers - your home for DVD cover art.

That's why our Residents are Resident Cover Artists. arms.gif

Sure we do labels, too. But first and foremost, we are a cover site.

And you ARE recognised, my friend. You were made an Artist as soon as you joined. 8824.gif thumb.gif

There are 1166 cover and 2113 labels in the gallery.......
So HiresLabels would suit us better

I think your labels are amongst the best I've seen ever, and far surpass the average poster rip + title and logo's you usually find.

Just to come away from the piracy issue that has been covered many times before, I think Skallys right about poster rips etc. Ven is the best creator of labels and almost all his work is unique. Others have been mentioned but even they use posters and just copy and paste.

Why not start a cover making collection? I know its not as quick but the personal reward is great. thumb.gif

I like having a matching label that goes with a cover, if there happens to be a matching label I am more likely to choose that over a cover that does not, this has nothing to do with back-up or pirated copies, but my database, I like the disc to match the cover, and it beats scanning all the crappy silver ones you get with the retails.

Just adding I do not encourage or endorse piracy in any form what so ever.

I agree...I deliberately don't make labels for my covers as it promotes piracy.

Not because I don't want to or can't make labels.

Lets see what you can do with a cover Ven0m, if they are half as good as your labels you should have no worries 8834.gif

thanks lulubelle..........peronally..............I think most retail prints on dvds are crappy.........

Not sure, what really impresses me with custom covers is when I can't see evidence of source imagery like posters and the artwork is highly creative, original and relevant to the movie. BTW i don't consider myself in that catagory yet, but I'm trying hard.

Perhaps an older title, something without too many other versions around.

Hope that gives you an idea.

However, personally I'd just like to see a cover before casting a vote on a residency spot, as I believe that a cover will demonstrate the true extents of a persons talent far better than a label.

A good cover with out a label is a replacement for bad retail work. A label advocates the making of illeagal copies or back ups of a DVD. Thats the differnece winking.gif

Thanks Skally...........................What cover do you want :-) Give me a movie title..........

If your after a residency can we see some covers?

Why does one have to be a cover designer to have residency or be recognised whistle.gif
What's a good cover without a good label...........and whats a good label without a good cover?

I personally love to do labels only...........So can't I be a "Resident Label Designer" arms.gif

Venom, you really don't need to prove yourself, because your labels are amazing! I, like many others I'm sure have downloaded and used quite a few of your labels. I particularly liked your Serenity label (although I did modify it a little) and your Ultraviolet label - very clever how you put the title of the film along the blade of the sword! If you're not an Artist, then site admin should correct that lickety spit.

You, Alex69 (if s/he's still posting), Donger and Germ69 are probably the best label artists on this site.
