Welcome to the HiResCovers Achievement Awards 2021!

We have 6 awards that we would like to present, for the extra mile that these members have gone to. Some achievements are for more recent efforts, while others are in celebration of the commitment these members have gone to during the lifetime of our site. But either way, the least we can do for these members is to present them with a little banner on their profile as a way of showing our appreciation for everything that they have done, and still do, to make HiResCovers the special place it is.

So, without further ado...





Our first award is the All-Star Staffer Achievement, which goes to Jazzy, for his long-term dedication to staffing our site.

Jazzy has been with us since the beginning and has been an incredible asset to our site. He has moderated every part of our site and has always been more than willing to help members and staff in any way he can. And somehow, he still finds time to make covers and play golf. Who knows, he may even get that ban button he has been asking for, over the last 10 years!





Next is the Comic Legend Achievement. It is pretty obvious who this belongs to. That is right, our very own Kernie, for his undetermined dedication to his Comic Book Collection.

Kernie has been an absolute machine, creating almost 6000 covers and labels over the last 13 years! But what we all know Kernie most famously for, is his ever growing and ever improving Comic Book Collection. When you see a new Kernie cover, you just know you are going to be wowed. And when you think that his custom 3D titles, imagery work and style cannot get any better, it does! With about 5000 of his covers and labels being part of his Comic Book Collection, it is not only the biggest custom collection we know of, but unarguably the best too. Kernie’s dedication has also been a marvel in itself. With a new family, demanding job commitments and other ventures, Kernie has still always found the time for us.





Now we have the Criterion Guru Achievement award, which will come as no surprise as it is awarded to ctaulbee.

Ctaulbee has shown immense dedication to the cover community, practically since it all began. And on top of his dedication to the cover world, coding our site regularly, creating incredible custom artwork (over 2600 covers and labels), and a lot more, he has also dedicated an amazing amount of time creating the perfect Criterion Collection. His collection now stands at over 1000 Blu-ray covers and labels. Sadly though, many people will most likely see his work, and not think that a great deal has gone into their creation. But that is not the case at all. Most of the Criterion work only has old and low-quality images available, which ctaulbee has to amend to bring them to the high-quality standard that they are. But the fact that so many people make this presumption is just testament to how good he is at restoring these aged images.





Next up is the Design Patriarch Achievement award, which goes to none other than Bunny Dojo for leading our community and creating such stunning artwork.

Bunny is most notable for his image mastery, bringing old, low-quality black and white images to life and framing them in a stunning piece of custom cover art. While his complete collection of cover art is not as expansive as some others, every single one is truly an inspirational piece of custom cover art. You know that he must be good, when you see he has the second most competition wins at HiResCovers, and first place is by occupied by Kernie. Bunny Dojo’s artwork just oozes class and dignity.





The Request Specialist Achievement award goes to Papinice, for his dedication to filling members requests.

As well as a hefty collection of almost 3500 covers and labels, Papinice is always at hand to fill members requests. In fact, he has by far filled the most requests out of anyone, and has been doing so for many, many years. This has been such a valued asset for our community, as there are not many requests that go unfilled thanks to Papi!




 
And last, but by no means least, the Rising Star 2021 Achievement award bestowingly goes to ripley for being the best new-comer to HiResCovers.

Ripley only joined us 10 months ago, but has already established himself as a real credit to HiResCovers. An extremely friendly and kind guy, he is always there to help if he can. He is one of our top recent forum posters, and has also proven to be another great asset for us to have around. Not only does he create great custom cover art, he also supplies us with top quality posters and title treatments. He is also a regular entrant to the HiResChallenge as well as someone who fills members requests. He is basically a great all-rounder, and has been a very welcome addition to our community.
