for those non english people on november 5th we celebrate the execution of guy fawkes.a catholic who tried to assasinate the protestant king of england james the 1st and both the house of lords and the house of commons, so by destroying democracy

anyway i took my 2 1/2 year old daughter to her first 'bonfire night' we have a large bonfire/burn an effigy of guy fawkes and have fireworks.

what amused me so much was that the men setting off the fireworks were dressed all in hi-vis yellow and carrying torches.when they came out to start the display the p.a. played the title theme to 2001-a space odyssey..it was like watching MONSTERS INC when they come onto the scare floor. then all through the display (for reasons only known to the d.j.) the theme from superman played, then at the finale the 1812 overture played (not in time to the fireworks)

so now im desperate to find a copy of superman(1978) then invade Russia and be home in time for tea !!

Sorry for my English, i'm from Leicester innit?

Sounds like a sorta wierd evening, but what the h3ll - if it can remind you of movies it's all good
