I am just starting to improve my label making from primative to "Hey I actually like this one" so I would like to start a thread and see how I am doing. I have just started to use photoshop and its been about 2-3 weeks, so I don't really know whats going on yet. If you see something that you know I should have done please tell me how to do it right not just that its wrong. Most of my work has holes because I am a nebie and didn't know so I will not upload those. As my labels get OK'd I will add links.

Okay, so I'll just leave one comment about the labels.
About the "Casino Royale" label, I don't get the idea of a square picture like that in the bottom.. Perhaps try and erase the part of the pic that isn't relevant (such as the background). Or somehow try and make it fit in some other way. Otherwise, from watching the preview's they look alright. 11 labels to go.

Looked mostly at the previews. They look half decent.
Positives. Your earlier work having holes has given you an appreciation for the fact that DVD's do have holes & you've kept that area clear. You have some good variety. Some less popular stuff. This is also good. We don't need 200 version of the same labels. Negatives. The only label I looked at the full size version was The Covenant. I see you are using templates, which is good but you should individualise them as you progress so they don't all look the same. You have fallen into the same trap as a lot of others (even well established ones) in that you have not updated the year in the text. This is a 2006 movie & you have it dated 2005. Runtime is another thing to be careful about on templates. Secondly you still have the "slightly blurred" credits from the poster on the label. You need to clone these out. This should be quite easy on this particular label. I hope these issues aren't a feature of your other labels. Good luck Cheers  Offering my opinion. Just in case anyone actually cares what it is. |

I do change the year and labels should have the correct run time. I let that one slip by on both. The covenant and Stay Alive are not my best. Please check some others. I will look at them myself and make sure I didn't miss anymore. I will fix and re upload wrong ones. I have started not to use templates always as I am learning photoshop more everday. Just looking at some of the artists work in the gallery has given me many pointers and there is some great labels here. |

I have made some mistakes with the rating on some of my labels. I am uploading the corrected version with pg-13 instead of R on a couple of labels. I do not want to lose my posted link above by deleting original files yet. I will replace as soon as I can. I apologize for rushing my artwork and losing quality. |

Your not the first I've seen to upload all their Sony Labels with an R rating. lol. You seem to be keen on striving to improve. If it were up to me I'd let you in as a contributor after you have fixed those ratings. Shame it isn't up to me isn't it. LOL. Hopefully someone else will look in here & sort you out. Some good work here. Although I have just removed your Da Vinci label, as the black levels are well out, and you can see where you have cut and paste the images/logos.
I would like to see the technical information corrected too.     |

I am fixing my mistakes now and will upload fixed year and ratings labels shortly. Yes, Supreme Taco's Template. I was in a rush and made a lot of the labels since starting this post. I am in the process of making my own template now but it was a very helpfull starting template and I am glad he shared it. I have to get a new mindset for quality as I used to make labels because I could not find ones that I liked for my dvd's and was always in a hurry. I never searched at sites like Hirescovers so good labels were hard to find. I will take my time and do that little bit extra that I see artists doing here that sets the labels apart.
