That's too bad because it has a really good cast. But I don't like wasting time on stupid movie, so I might skip it. Halle Berry still looks amazing! I hate her, lol

Penguin (2024) 9/10
I thought this would be good, but I wasn't expecting too much from this. I am not sure why, but I presumed it was going to be another generic Marvel/DC series.
But, I have to say I was pleasantly surprised. For me, Colin Farrell steals the show. Farrell has always been a decent actor, but this is one of the best performances I have seen in a while. Reminiscent of Heath Ledger as the Joker, Farrell was so good. the part came so naturally to him. And if you didn't know that he was playing the Penguin, you would never know that it is him. The makeup/prosthetics are absolutely top class.
It isn't just Farrell that excelled. Cristin Milioti as Sofia Falcone was extremely good too.
The story line is great too, showing us how Penguin became the baddie that he is today. It has characters that you love, and those that you hate. And the end of each episode left me wanting to watch the next one straight away. And the ending... wow. I don't think anyone could have predicted the ending. I won't say anymore about it, as I don't want to give it away.
Check out the trailer and how they changed Farrell into the Pengin.

I was going to skip this one because unlike you, I don't like Colin Farrell and "most" movies he's in. But after you gushing over it (lol), I might give it a try because I do like miniseries. Will I need subtitles with Farrell or he's faking an American accent?

I am not a huge fan of Farrell either. He is an OK actor normally (in my humble opinion), but he is great in this. And you will be fine with the accent. He has a New York gangster accent

The Mist (2007) 4/10 - The movie is okay, nothing special. I'm guessing the ending is supposed to be sad, but I just found it funny and stupid.
Spoiler Block
My first issue is the day after the storm, if you look at the neighbors house in the background, everything seems normal, it's only on main actors side and other neighbor side that trees have fallen and so on. The second issue I have is that the mist for some reason does not go through a big cap in the "carport?" door in the back of the store. I also found it silly that for a monster with five or six tentacles doesn't use one of them to fight off or grab any of the other people (only took Sherminator from American Pie). There's more silly stuff happening along that I won't get into. The end is just plain stupid, you've just escape, driven around for a little bit and you think the world has ended, you have 4 bullets in a gun (there's five people left) and instead of just trying to survive they all decide to just end their lives (altho it didn't seem like the kid had much say in it) which leaves the father left alone, screaming for the monster to kill him, but here comes the military instead and the mist goes away and everything "back to normal".
I'm really looking forward to check out Penguin, so nice to see you giving it a 9/10, seeing our tastes have been very similar lately.

I look forward to hearing what you think of Penguin.
As for The Mist, I enjoyed it (although it has been many years since I saw it). But do you not find a lot of Stven King films are a 'bit silly' in parts? I have come to expect it, so it doesn't bother me so much.

I normally don't watched Stephen King movies because I don't like horror movies and that's pretty much all he does. The only exceptions would be Carrie (1976), Cujo (1983), Christine (1983) and Misery (1990).
I watched the trailer for Penguin and to be honest, that accent is not much better, lol

You have a real issue with accents

I haven't seen that much of his work, but I really liked the IT movies and didn't find them to be silly at all. Gerald Game on the other hand I rated 2/10 so I guess you have a very valid point. Alien: Romulus (2024) 7/10 - This was one of the better (if not the best) Alien movie I've watched, that probably doesn't mean much tho as I haven't seen all of them. Both Cailee Spaeny & David Jonsson played their roles really well and I found them to be very likeable while watching. A great movie in my opinion.

There are ofc some things dragging the score down, one of them being the "infinite" amount of bullets after the gun blinking low and probably should only have a few (maximum 5-10) bullets left, but it ends up being more around the 20-30 mark. I really don't understand why they needed to focus on the gun almost being out of ammo, only to have it have way more than it should. Who would have cared if they did have 30% left when they actually had like 5-10%.

Alien: Romulus is another movie I wasn't expecting too much from. But I was pleasantly surprised. It is not the best Alien movie, but it is definitely one of the better ones.
