What movie are you most looking forward to being released in the next 12 months? One of mine was Borderlands (2024), but I keep reading that it is a complete flop. I loved the PC games when they came out, and I was hoping the movie would be as good. But alas, it is not to be.
So instead I am looking forward to seeing Joker: Folie à Deux (2024) this year. I really like the whole Gotham franchise of movies, and really enjoyed Joaquin Phoenix in Joker (2019). So I expect another stellar performance from him, and I am intrigued to see the new Harley too. She looks a little psychotic
But I am most looking forward to seeing the new Highlander movie, which will hopefully be released next year. I was a huge fan of the original when I was a kid, and I also think Henry Cavill is great in these sorts of rolls. I especially liked him in The Witcher (which unfortunately he is no longer starring in). I hope it will be more than just special effects, and has a strong story line like the original.

For upcoming Blu-ray releases, I'm excited to see Twisters, Longlegs, and Deadpool & Wolverine.
It's getting harder to tell what will be worthwhile -- or even what will be given a major release, versus quietly being added to a streaming service.
Coming up, January 17, 2025 jumps out as a good one: Paddington in Peru and Guy Ritchie's In the Grey starring Henry Cavill, Eiza González, Jake Gyllenhaal, and Rosamund Pike.
A few I looked into, thanks to this thread: A sci-fi thriller called The Assessment, starring Elizabeth Olsen, Alicia Vikander, and Himesh Patel An action movie called Cleaner, with Daisy Ridley and Clive Owen, directed by Martin Campbell (Casino Royale) The Life of Chuck, a Stephen King adaptation directed by Mike Flanagan, with Tom Hiddleston, Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, and Karen Gillan
All of next summer's sequels / series look pretty worthwhile so far -- Mission: Impossible 8, 28 Years Later, Jurassic World Rebirth, Superman: Legacy, The Fantastic Four: First Steps. I'm particularly hoping The Naked Gun works out well, it seems like we haven't had many great comedy movies in recent years.

Among your lists, yes, "In the Grey" is on too, like "Highlander" wich is hugely expected... But my post-pubescent brain is waiting with great impatience for the next “Avengers”
Simple choices but...

What about Beetlejuice Beetlejuice, out next week? That is another childhood favourite, that I hope is done justice with the latest release And it is great to see Michael Keaton taking the lead role again.

I don't watch many movies, mostly TV Series and Mini-Series, but Deadpool & Wolverine will definitely be on my top priority list when the Blu-Ray is out.
Great thread.

Taking notes. Guy Ritchie is a genius!

I think Deadpool may be too violent for you, Chewie
