Im Trying to put together a cool looking bat signal in the sky on my cover and was hoping someone here seen a tutorial on the net somewhere? Iv looked but cant seem to find anything?

any help is appreciated.

Pen-tool the light-beam and make a circle with the bat-logo innit? Add some masking / blend-mode to the beam and tweak the circle for the logo.
Or am I totally lost?

Used 2 different brushes. With some tweaking, it might turn out good.

If your going to use the bat signal i think you should use the new signal as shown here

I agree with voetzoeker... you should use the logo from Nolan's films.

Maybe put a -20˚ rotation on the logo as well? I'm sure you're still working on it, but it looks a bit odd being straight-on like you have it now.

If u guys are referring to my suggestion, then it was only to show a way how to do it.
Obviously with the right logo and some tweaking. I used the front HalfBreed is working on.

Oops, sorry guys... I didn't realize that chillseeker posted that preview, I thought it was by HalfBreed, I guess I should pay attention to who's saying what...

Yeah, Zans got it right......I used the same for my spine art set

If you make a light beam also take in consideration where the light in the beam has to be
as you can see in my preview the light in the beam is where the light of the logo is and not where the shadow is.

Made this by duplicating the logo and take a motion blur to stretch it used a perspective transform to make 1 end narrower also made the bottom part brighter then the top

Unfortunately my preview was made from this wallpaper
it was just a quick example and i did not save the PSD.
