Because I like digital art, i thought i would make a special cover for transformers with an artistic touch.

Some of my ideas are:
*Useing the wacom tablet and make a custom and good looking spec box or something in that direction.
*Write the actors name by hand - (look at the preview pic)
and yeah - that's all i have for ideas right know (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) .

I'm open for ideas so just throw me everything you've got. If you have an idea and think, [ No this is not a good idea for the cover] don't throw that idea away, write it down in this thread.

Every idea is unique and special in it's way and can allways be used some how - so don't hesitate!

That's some nice Artwork you've found there Alias (do you have the artists name as I'd like to look he/she up).

I like the idea for the actors names but it would be a nicer touch if you had their signatures to use. As An idea for the spec box how about making some artwork like the pillars in the background but with a Bio-mechanical feel like the one used in the background imagery for the Decepticons?

Beautiful art work. But as said above, if you are going to add the actor names in that way, I think it should be signatures, instead of handwriting.

Yepp, i know skally and baz i thought of that when i brainstormed, it was hard to find their signatures. At first i didn't found any one but i have finally found them after 50 min search but in very low res quality. so i have to use vectorgraphics and "copy" the signatures.

SkallyWay - I really liked that idea about the spec box and bio-mech pillars - I'll try my best (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winking.gif) .
I'll try first to draw it and see if it's looking good, or do it in 3D ( it's very long time since i used Maya (IMG:style_emoticons/default/winking.gif)

Here's a link to the actors real signatures, should be easy enough to trace (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) Good luck with the spec box will look nice.

If you need some reference imagery look up:-

Alex Jaeger - Art Director from Transformers

and

Ben Procter - Lead robot Illustrator

I think one of them painted the artwork you've used, but I cant find it high res.

Using one at work, I find it difficult to use so I stick with my intous3 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) But a lot of the illustrators swear by the cintiq

I can really recommend the Intuos 3 Series - A5 is ok but i prefer A4 - (I have tested the intuos 3 Series at a local computer store.)

BTW - update 1 - added the sign from the actors - the effect on the text is temporary and will probably be changed later

About 2 days ago sat infront of my computer and opened the Transformsers.psd file when I suddenly got a chock!

3 hours work totaly waisted. I had by misstake when i made the preview pic. saved the .psd file (work file for the cover) in a very low res and pressed Ctrl+s.
So now i'm sitting here and start from scratch.
work that has been lost:
*the whole specbox: 3D and painted GONE! (a couple of hours work).
*signatures of the actors (got a backup so that will be soon fixed)

some of you guys allready know about this because i wrote about this in the shoutcast.
But for you guys who didn't know about this, know it now - and have to wait a little bit longer for this cover. Sorry about that.
