Thanks:

Finally got around to making a 300 cover, wanted to try something a little different and avoid poster art altogether, hope it's working:-

Wow. I think that looks awesome. And I am a poster art camper, so I reallt think that is awesome. My only siggestion so far would be to make the "300" title on the spine a little bit bigger. I like playing around with designs on the titles, but I just think that one would be a little too hard to see. Just my two cents.

Skally your covers always are a technical masterpiece. From this initial point I am wondering if it is a bit too distressed and the image on the back being grunged out seems to not to sit comfortably IMO. The shield and helmet, love them thats probably some of your 4D toys coming into effect. I feel that the cover will come out better if it is a little cleaner.

wow, that looks amazing.

i can't read the fine print without a drop shadow, but that's probably the last thing you're worried about.

your shadow work on the spear and shield look great, but I think the helmet needs some shadow to it also, or it just looks too "photoshopped," if that makes sense. also, is it me or does the front of the shield seem a little out of focus. almost like that part of it is low quality.

Well looks like I'm going to have to do a reprint for this cover now. Just printed one up the other day, that I thought I really liked? Now seeing this I have to have it.....Great work so far skally

My only comment would be to maybe make the spine title a little brighter or noticable..

Thanks all, Taco, thanks for spotting that I've bolloxed up when I rendered it out, I'll have to redo the shield (IMG:style_emoticons/default/sad.gif) GC I was thinking that myself will have a go at cleaning it up some and a different effect for the screen cap at the top. That helmet shadows buggin the ass of me too, just won't come right no matter what I try (IMG:style_emoticons/default/unsure1.gif)

Taking on board the opinions in here I've come up with this. Better? Will make a few versions anyways as I kinda like the grundy style of the first one too.
