Starting a collection of covers for-
Oscar Nominated Films

My intent with this is to create some customs for a bunch of great movies
that I(and others) have, many of which don't get much attention in the
custom cover world. Lack of artwork, the type of movie is uninspiring,
etc., etc., we all know the reasons.

I fiddled with numerous ways to associate the films for this. Nearly all
the movies I wanted to include are highly acclaimed and/or awarded.
First I thought about only Oscar winners, but that left too many out.
Then I tried to do some kind of rating system using Academy Awards, Bafta,
critics & reviewers top-movie lists and IMDB rating and I came up with
a 0.0-10.0 scale that I could plug any film into.
Great idea but it doesn't work, at least not for me and my average brain.
A couple Best Picture winners got 5's, some top 100 reviewed films of all
time weren't nominated for any awards, and so on. I wasn't smart enough
to balance the variables I was using. And then I realized that even if
I did stumble onto a ranking system that seemed to work for me, 90% of
those that saw the covers would disagree with my #'s and hate the set.

So I settled on Oscar Nominated Films, which is a huge list, nearly 3000,
but it includes 95% of the movies that I wanted. I think I have about
400 films that fit.

This set will never be complete, I'll just plug away at it and hopefully
it will be useful for others as well.

I have no order I'm following so if there any requests, I'm happy to do it
if I can find decent pics, artwork donations with requests would make
things that much easier.

As for the award details, it's all on the spines. The # on Oscar's chest is
the ceremony for that year. The #'s either side of Oscar shows wins & nominations.
The nominations list is under Oscar, with wins highlighted.

The set could be organized by title, year, studio, # of awards or combinations
of these, or no order should work fine too.

Hopefully some of you guys and gals will have use for this. The first 5 covers are in the gallery.
