I LOVE GOOOLD!!! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)

Again a great inspiration from my favourite artist Scaramanga. I always wanted a Star Wars collection in gold so I have started to work on this. Still have a looooooooong way to go and it will probably kill me.

I'm still working on the overall design so expect some small changes on that.

Looks very nice. The only thing I've never been fond of on these sets is the spine labeling of all the extra discs. We know they're all extra discs, no need for all the "E"'s IMO.

Maybe instead you could use some of the various SW symbols

(why are IV, V and VI on the spine twice? for the original releases coming up?)

How to say this? The E's are for the continuity. We have to have the Roman numerals on the first 6 episodes and the we need something similar on the The next covers so the spines combined looks good. The E's with the same font felt like the best solution. I don't think I can find SW symbols for all the Extra Discs.

Bingo. Those are for the original versions. Still don't know if I'll call Episode 4 "Star Wars" or "A New Hope"

Those are the MagnoliaFan Edits.

Will try and work on some of these when I finish my Angel Collection.

If you ever need any images while working on this set, let me know. I I have quite a few posters and such that I don't see floating around much.
Great start, good luck!

I have been really busy this month. Got a new job, and the sun has arrived (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) so sitting in front a computer the few hours I'm not working isn't really my favourite pass time. But I'll see if I can do some work on this this weekend.

These are really nice. If I wasnt already using SithAngel's set I would i'd be bullying you around to finish these. LOL If you need any artwork for the Holiday Special I think I still have some posters and fan covers you may be able to use.

Sorry Guys that I haven't posted lately, but I have had serious computer problems lately. My Main hardrive crashed so I have bought a new one that is on the way. Luckily I managed to salvage all my important files (PSD files for example) before the big crash. Will have to rebuild my computer and then I can make covers again.

Will also stop at my job soon and take some summer vacation so I might get some more time on my hands soon.

Nice covers but the only problem is you have two awesome sets for comparison and you are never gonna win against Scara and Sith.

That's a matter of oppinion.

You probably won't find a bigger Scaramanga fan then me, and if you look at some of my covers (I.E. this collection) you will see that I got a lot of inspiration from this guy. In my oppinion he is the greatest custom cover maker there is. I don't know how many dvds I bought just so I could find an excuse to print out his covers. By now there are more Scaramanga covers on my shelf then ubl covers. Scaramanga's Star Wars covers are perfect in my oppinion and there is no reason to replace them. The only problem is that he never finished his Star Wars collection adn because he is busy with about 6 other collections, he probably won't do so for a while.

SithAngel is truly a great artist, and his Star Wars Collection is grand and unique. He has gone outside the box and tried to create his own front posters instead of using the usual posters that everyone uses. In that he tries to compete with such illustrators as Drew Struzan, Tim Hildebrandt and Tom Jung who have created some legendary Star Wars Posters. One can compare SithAngel's posters to the posters that 20th Century Fox created for the 2004 DVD release covers and the new Theatrical Releases covers, that used real images instead of drawn pictures. (Though SithAngel's posters are a little more tasteful then the Fox ones) Call me old fashioned but I prefer an good hand drawn illustration over a floating heads/characters real images poster.

The Gold Collection was once started but by the great artist Stalker but he never finished it cause real life caught up with him. Maybe some day he will finish it, but we will never know. I decided to start the collection out of own interest, like I do with all my covers. I just make it for the fun of it. Call it a hobby if you like.

I really doubt this collection will gather the same attention as the last mentioned collection, simply because most people allready have aquired themselves the star wars covers of their choice.

I disagree with this statement.

Art is subjective and what one person likes another may not (something I have said over and over) whilst you can't doubt the talent you can dislike the cover.

I really like these covers ubl they are the best I have seen for Star Wars. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) just make sure you finish it (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)
