Okay my previous wip for this one didn't work out very well.. So I decided to try and find my own "style" again instead of trying to duplicate someone else's style (and poorly I should add)...

Anyway, got this done today, the back is WIP (specs/legals = placeholders) and the front is almost final (IMO). Tho I'll probably move the title to the bottom and and some names (suggestions?) on the top.
But my main holdup is the synopsis - looks huuuge. So comments, ideas and critique (or just spam) are welcome as always (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Since I got no suggestions and got bored with this cover and finished it off pretty quick..
But I can't decide which front to use.. What do you say, 1 or 2?
(Special features are "fake", will do an update when they're released)

I like alt 3 (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif)

Move a clint eastwood film to the bottom and make it 3 lines

a clint eastwood film
flags of our fathers
a single shot can end the war

maybe try a centered placement also, dunno, (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

My 2 cents and a quick question.

This is a Warner/Dreamworks production. Are you sure this will be released on DVD by Warner? I ask because i'm working on a cover for this and i'm doing the cover with Warner legal stuff and Dreamworks legal stuff.

Now the comments. The back looks like a Warner retail cover. So I think you should work the spine like a retail: move up the title and place the logo at the bottom.

About the front: you could try to place the title at the center, under the soldier hand. And the “ A Clint Eastwood Film” line should be placed above the title.

I like number one, really nice work, but I just don't like all the text on back, if you're ging for the retail look though, you've got it! Great job (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif) (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

Thanks for the input y'all! Sorry I havn't posted any updates in a while, been away from home a couple of days..

Ark: Honestly, I'm not sure anymore! Can't say it's Warner nor Dreamworks, I'll probably wait puting this up before I know for sure which one will release it. Thanks for the headsup.

As for the front and the spine, is this anywhere near what you're thinking?

And would someone please proofread/edit the synop for me? I suck at this...
"In February, 1945, one of the fiercest battles of the Pacific theater of World War II occurs on the tiny island of Iwo Jima. Thousands of Marines attack the stronghold maintained by thousands of Japanese, and the slaughter on both sides is horrific. Early in the battle, an American flag is raised atop the high point, Mount Suribachi, and a photograph of the raising becomes an American cause celebre. As a powerful inspiration to war-sick Americans, the photo becomes a symbol of the Allied cause. The three surviving flag raisers, Rene Gagnon, John Bradley, and Ira Hayes, are whisked back to civilization to help raise funds for the war effort. But the accolades for heroism heaped upon the three men are at odds with their own personal realizations that thousands of real heroes lie dead on Iwo Jima, and that their own contributions to the fight are only symbolic and not deserving of the singling out they are experiencing. Each of the three must come to terms with the honors, exploitation, and grief that they face simply for being in a photograph."

cause célèbre...............maybe should look like this!

I read a book about Ira Hayes he was a native americn and died in poverty a drunk............a very sad story and an indictment of American attitude toward their native american heroes.

Perfect! Glad i could help! The title looks now much better with the new title treatment. And the spine is done. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

One last question folks, would it be wrong to put a "Dreamworks Home Entertainment" logo instead of the WB logo to the left (on the back)?
Since it now has two WB logos and it's also a Dreamworks production.. Or that out of the question?

good idea for now since you have two on the back. That may change when the official DVD specs are released.
