A couple of things I'd consider:

- remove "A Martin Scorsese Film" from the spine.
- remove all the credits from the front (maybe place a smaller DVD logo in the corner)
- top of front is a bit bare.
- spread out the logos on the back.

yes remove the front credits
sort out thr box around the dvd logo on the front, and IMO it looks odd in the middle, put it to one side.
i would also make an invert feathered selection around the back pic of de niro, just st the top wher his face is then make the rest of the vack the same colour as the front/spine.
and IMO your personnal star belongs on the back ,so remove it from the spine and move the dvd logo to the bottom

I really like the nice clean style of this digital....the only changes that I would make is to take the credits off the front. Where you have the credits on the back move to where you have the subtitles information...make the subtitle information and those logos much much smaller and put underneath the credits.

On the spine move the dvd logo to the bottom of the spine and the studio information down a little at the top.

You need to justify the synopsis, it will make a much neater look to the cover.

Last...but definitely not least....I would remove all the logos from the front.

I don't think the front needs anything else....I like it, especially if you take the credits and logos off. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

I get what you're trying to do, and thats cool. So, only thing I would suggest is relocate the front credits to the back and remove the front logos as been previously mentioned.

Not sure how to do this with the featered selection as you mention, but I have done some small work with the back image so itīs more the same colors on the whole cover now, thanks for the headīs up and the inspiration. Looks better now.

The star has been removed on the front and on the spine, kept it on the back tho with the other logos

All logoīs on the front is now stripped, including the box where I had them on the front. I did my best with justifying the text, kind of hard work since I stink at text works, but it was good experience for future works.

Thanks for all the advices and tips, This cover is finished in my eyeīs, would rather work with new stuff than this old cover (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)

then this thread can be closed...

and no, it's not "wrong".. It's just odd and not very necessairy. The "principles" of a dvdcover is that you check the spine for a title, and then go to the front.
If you like what you see, you check out the back for more info. Why then would you need the title there too?
Not sure what else to say, some clever bastard can probably explain why. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/tongue2.gif)
But it ain't wrong, it's just not that commong so it makes my eyes twitch.

looks good, the only suggestion i would have made(if you hadnt uploaded this already) would be to add some contrast to de niro on the back(only upwards of the title) so he stood out more...otherwise excellent job

Well I tried to add more contrast on de niro but that ended up with him looking very uncrisp, even tho heīs not in his best right now due to lo res image, if I had a larger source on that one it would have looked even better and yes it could have been more sharper and clearer.
