Looks pretty good. A few too many DVD logo's for my taste and 1 too many banners (at least). If you're going to have the back flow onto the spine I'd probably stop the banner(s) on the front and not have them on the spine. Not sure about the synopsis font and the way it's justified. Hard to tell on that preview how hi-res it is.

I'm not a fan of banners at all, but if you are gonna have them, then they are fine.

Once the cover is in a box, the spine is seen as a separate entity, so where they end is personal choice.

The synopsis might look better slightly smaller, and curved on it's right side to match the curve of the blue "stars" panel.

The single pic on the back looks a little lost all on it's own there. Maybe two or three smaller ones blended together? And maybe framed in some way, rather than just dropped there. If that meant reducing the size of the special features box, that might be worth doing.

You got the makings of a cool cover there. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

My only advice would be to adjust the leading of the synopsis and vary the character spacing in order to reduce rivers of space which are appearing to to the justified type.

I like where your going but I agree with the above comments.

-no need of 2 widescreen banners
-2 different dvd logos being used. (1 on the back, 1 one the spine, would be fine and being the same logo)
-I would also look at the back layout, seems to be bunched in the middle, everything does not need to be square...let your creative juices fly, play with different layouts, use drop shadows, borders, edges, whatever you got, but use your space effectively.

keep at it M8, it's getting there.

cheers

much better layout, huge step forward...not liking the border on the pics though...over sized in some some of them, I can dig the fact that your staying to military theme, but that part don't work for me.

the only other thing I would suggest, is if the cover picture has more ground below I would move the pic up about 2" to fill the cover a bit, but that can also be done with a slightly bigger font size and a drop shadow to make the title pop a bit, and the addition of a tag line.

great work moving forward with this cover....keep at it.

cheers

resized borders, added drop shadow and bigger font.
Also no pic left at the bottom, thats why I used a banner

getting better...but I don't dig the borders sorry.
a border should accent a picture and not draw away from the picture, the border your using is definately taking away from the pics.

have a look at maybe a torn edge on the pics with just a drop shadow.
use your erasing tool but pick a spunge type of brush and just use it to give you textured edges that look torn.

or a border that's smaller and suites the picture blending with them but not over powering them.

the only other tweek, would be to take the flag planting image on the spine and make it a bit smalled...it's a great pic but the layout of the pic makes it look off center even though it isn't...making it a bit smaller will give you the play to move it around a bit and cheat the eye.

looking better every time M8....is this your first cover?

how did you save this? Cause the image quality in some places looks a little bad. I hope it's just for the preview.

The overall design isn't bad. I like the front.

I used 4 instead of 12 to save it as I don't think I can save to upload with settings at 12.

I'm digging that...looks better I think, what do you think?

your justification looks much better as well.

that's about all I can suggest my good man, the rest would be creative design choices you make.

nice job

With the final upload I suggest saving at a minimum of 10 (the setting I prefer). 12 is pointless though, just adds a bunch a photoshop recognition data and other junk that doubles the file size.
