Ok, I use a Mac, one of the regulars here does also, I recently purchased an Intell mac, but can no longer use the program I used to print my covers and lables with. Please in detail tell me how you print your covers, as no matter what I try, they seem to be cut off. And if you have good settings for lables with memorex lables that would be way cool. Thanks

Well if we were talking about windows i'd say just use the built in printing wizard, but since you're using a mac i'm more inclined to get the holy water.(IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif)

Sorry dude i understand less about macs then i do about women.

I only have PC, but I use PS to print as well. Just make sure you change the layout to landscape... I used to use coverXP but noticed that in trimmed some of the covers on me, so I tried printing w/PS and alls good.

If you do print in PS just make sure your printer and PS aren't fighting for color management. Turn one or the other off when you print.

Select "Print with preview"

Go to "Page setup"

Select "Landscape"

You should now see whether the pic is gonna fit on your paper.

Go into printer properties(these will vary according to your printer) to change settings and select quality of print etc.

That's it! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)
(in the UK, we have A4 paper, which is bigger than legal - I can't help with how you fix that tiny paper you americans use!! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/unsure1.gif) )

yep, seems all you guys are using A4 paper which is 8.5x 11.65 or thereabout, I have been using 8.5x11 US Letter. So what I need to do is find an Legal size 8.5x 14 US and hope I can get that in Semi glossy.

Hi Chef,

I'm not entirely sure what the issue your having is, US Letter paper is 215.9mm x 279.4 mm whilst A4 is 210 x 297mm essentially yours is longer and marginally narrower, but since the dimensions of a printed dvd cover are 274.32 mm x 184.15mm the image you want to print will comfortably fit on either.

My advice in the first instance is to consult the manual of your printer and find aout the maximum imageable area, on a laser printer this will be smaller than the page size. On most modern inkjets you can turn on edge to edge printing which may fix the issue.

Printing from photoshop is pretty simplistic but here's a link to a guide for Mac and PC users which covers a couple of workflows for the colour management issues you may encounter (I chose this one because it includes swedish and english).

http://www.computer-darkroom.com/ps9_print/ps9_print_1.htm

Hope this helps
