see we dont have a poltergeist cover so heres my attempt so far:
(IMG:http://img175.imageshack.us/img175/2082/poltergeistdh1.th.jpg)

does anyone know the correct studio? it was a mgm cinema release but was released by warner bros on dvd(2000) most of the customs use mgm logos but is this right? (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/chin.gif)

anyway the idea is to have the synopsis above the top pic and the special features/credits in the middle.

Seems to have passed from MGM to Warners for the 2000 DVD release.

I guess you can use whichever one you wish! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/unsure1.gif)

I like the front image (little girl with telly) nothing else fits with that image currently and theres just too much black space. The title treatment would fit Casper but not this movie.

Pehaps a simple white title would work better here.

I know you dislike them but you should try modifying a retail template which would give your work some structure which it sorely lacks at present. Once you've mastered that then you should experiment with design and layout. This is not personl but like many other newbies you are suffering from trying to be too different before you have developed the neccessary skills.

Hope this helps.

yep Warner released the dvd for this, so I would suggest you use them.

thanks scally, have been d/l templates to try,and trying to make them more'retail' without copying the retail cover.
i'm using wb as this seem to be the most popular dvd(altough it is available on mgm on amazon.com)..i like the title trament but agree it looks like casper(now you mention it),will make it like 'they're here' and just have a haze around it.
the front replicates the original dvd,but the image fills out a lot more of the cover-you should see the black space on the original!!
will post an update later today

The rules allow there to be one custom already in the Gallery, so this title is still admissable for the comp. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)
