Ok so i'm working on a cover for some labels i've done.I wanted to with a weathered brick background for the cover. I was going for the look that "Sopranos" had been painted on the wall in white and that it was chipping off and old looking. I wasn't quite able to get that look but i like what i was able to do. I wanted it to look like the side of an old building in Jersey that they might own or something. All i've done so far is the title on the front because it took so much trial and error to get it to look right. I want to use some black and white portraits of the characters on the front and back. I'll probably give them a similiar look as the title.

I just realized i'm not sure what size to make the cover in. I have a 4 disc alpha case but i understand those aren't as popular anymore. What case should i make it for?

SVP sell 4-way cases that are the same width as a normal case, thats usually what I buy.
I've got my Frasier collection in these cases and as far can remember a normal sized cover fits them.

Here is an update. I forgot exactly how i made the title effect. I tried to repliacte it as best i could for the front pic. I as applied an effect to the first block of text on the back. You may not be able to tell because of the preview size. Its a crackled effect. Trying to make it look like peeling paint.

i expect everyone will tell you how great this is....................but, it aint working for me at all. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/chin.gif)

the series is quite dark ................... this is more of a "humpty dumpty" wall (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

if you could maybe "beat" the wall up a little (you know make it darker and more weathered like a back-alley........then your title and images may look a bit better (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

or...................maybe a re-think on the background texture all-together (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/chin.gif)

the series is dark and the light brick wall doesn't catch the mood of the series.

keep at it M8

Well most brick textures i could find were cleanish like that one. I'm gonna post all the ones i considered and see if any of you think a different one would work better.

This is the one i originally was gonna use. The holes looked like bullet holes to me. I didn't use it because its a fairly close pic and the bricks looked to big.

This one i belive was supposed to be from under a bridge. Its certinaly dirty enough. Plus the underside of a bridge would certainly be a place they might use in the show.

And these are the rest of them.

http://img138.imageshack.us/img138/2953/bricks3bp2.jpg
http://img228.imageshack.us/img228/489/bricks4fv1.jpg

Here is one i did earlier with the hole riddled one.

http://img206.imageshack.us/img206/8963/so...oscover2jy1.jpg

I would actually make a brick background but i think it might look to fake. I have this great image in my mind of what i want it to look like but i'm just not sure of how to go about it. I wanted everything to look like it had been painted on the wall and was peeling and chipping off. Just not sure how to get that effect.

I pmed you kylumi. If i can't get this to work i may use the same background i used in my labels. It was atleast clean looking.

got it jake.....................the PSD i have made for you...........just, shows you how to grunge things up a little..........there are several textures in there that you can mess around with with.............the title treatment is naff (based on arial) but, it gives some idea on how to alter a "bog standard" text arrangement (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)
