(IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/cavemanlawyer/starfighter_preview.jpg)

Modeled after the arcade game in the fim.

The green background is filler. I need to make some sort of background scene similar to what was in the film. Does anyone remember the exact locale? (I just moved and all my DVDs are in storage.) I remember it being at some kind of town store but that's it.

I also need lots of help on the back. Other than being beat up I don't know what the back of an arcade game should look like.

I'll most likely make the spine say the full title, "The Last Starfighter" even though the game is just called Starfighter.

Haha Nice!! Really love the idea by putting in a arcade-machine (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) Though I can't quite remember where it stood.

Yeah I may try to have the trailerpark way off in the background. But does anyone know what the ground was? Was it on dirt or cement or was it on a deck?

If you could give me a screenshot or two of the area around the game that would be great. I'd most like to see a wider shot of the game showing the ground its on. If possible I'd like to see the wall behind the game, and maybe a wide shot of the trailer park. Thanks.

The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom; I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh... you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. That's worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.

Cavemanlayer, you glorious Bastard!!!! Brilliant!

The game was against a verticle slat type building with a standard building non-opening window to the left with an original budweiser bowtie style neon sign centered in it. Just under the window is a red old school "ice cold" drink (possibly coke) commercial fridge about waist high. The tone of the wall is light brown/grey. The ground it sits on is smooth grey cement slab.

During the pivotal scene when alex breaks the record an orange tabby cat (think morris) sits on top of the machine. There are also large hanging industrial lights orange, pale yellow and red from left to right above the machine. You will have to see them to get the look right.

Keep up the good work.

Looks like on decking boards against a wood panel wall then. Nice work CML and really nice to see everyone rallying around supporting each other (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

In my opinion, I disagree.

The ground is a concrete slab or compacted dirt. In the third photo those are shadow lines on the ground from the awning above.

The 4th photo is of the top of the stairs and the stair landing that is built in the hillside. The people race up it during the record breaking scene. I believe the landing ends and proceeds to become the concrete/dirt where the game is located.

I have watched that scene about 50 times last night and today so I could help. Either way, do you really need the ground? it does not look like it from the preview cover.

Thanks for the pics and descriptions, that's just what I needed. I updated that background with what I think looks more or less like the surroundings. I originally thought that the cover should be set at night since that's when he wins the game, but I just don't think it will work since the back of the game covers so much real estate and is so dark itself. I tried it and everything just gets lost in darkness.

Make sure you do a good label too. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Maybe jsut a simple one like the starfighter Logo or one of the HUD images like the 360 degree of the starship.

If you don't want to do the label, I would undertake it for you. Just Pm me.

Great cover. I can wait to swap out my current cover.
