Chef, just an observation, but you seem to now be postng virtually finshed work in WIP. If you want to use the WIP thread to get better at creating covers try posting earlier versions in here then more experienced designers can help you or alternativly use the show off section.

great front images for these movies but the back is.......how shall i put this..................not, to my liking (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/whistle.gif)

it's probably just my taste................but, i like to see some correlation between back and front on custom's.
not everybody does ............... just saying i do (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif) (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/yellow.gif)

Skally I tried the show section, and got no comment, something like 20 out of 400 some odd views... i'll just start with earlier versions I guess.

It depends what your after Chefjoe, if you want a bacl slap, then show off's your place. If you want honest critique and constructive criticism (mostly) then your posting in the right spot. Which do you want in this case?

I'm with piggy on the theming on these 2, for a custom cover you should try and demonstrate a common theme between the front and back. For example I quite like the montage you have on the front of the 1st cover, perhaps you could continue that onto the back. Or use the same effect you've used on the 2nd version onto the images on it's back. You also need to slow down you cover making try spending a long time perfecting one before moving onto the next.

yeah right, u don't need comments, (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif) . Ok, yes I do need to slow up, and i'll see what I can come up with
for the backs, I've always concidered them more the info section. u guys do realize I have no Plugs or filters, don't u. Tight budget. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif)

(IMG:http://img208.imageshack.us/img208/4193/nightofthelivingdead68issd2.jpg) [/img]

I think the other version is history for now, I'm clueless and have no images that could combine front and back. May come back to it latter. Man u guys push me hard.... (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/lol.gif)

on the right track now Chefjoe, If possible you should colour up the images to the same as the front (sepia like).

As for filters and plugin's the ones worth having only automate what you can do manually. And it's not the tools you have it's how you use them, many cover/label designers work would look a lot better without them, when used properly you quite often can't tell they've been used (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Keep up the effort, it's getting better with each revision. And remember it's your interpretation of the cover when your happy stop.

This one looks good chefjoe. You are improving you're skills. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)
And i don't use often plug-ins. You're imagination is the most important plug-in for photoshop.
Look around on the i-net for tutorials of PhotoShop when you want to create a special effect. It helps me allot.

Looks good chef...hey I only have about 3 or 4 plugins myself. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

The key to faking out the parents is the clammy hands. It's a good non-specific symptom; I'm a big believer in it. A lot of people will tell you that a good phony fever is a dead lock, but, uh... you get a nervous mother, you could wind up in a doctor's office. That's worse than school. You fake a stomach cramp, and when you're bent over, moaning and wailing, you lick your palms. It's a little childish and stupid, but then, so is high school.
