The retail cover/poster, paired with a 3-hour runtime, made this film seem really daunting to me over the years.
Having finally watched it recently, I was wrong; it's great and richly enjoyable. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Very nice work on this buddy! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)
Really like the idea with the painting in the background and the blurred guy in the foregrround of your front. And great work on these two small collages next to the synopsis, they're great! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

The back is one of your most inspired designs yet! For the front, The depth of field seems a little weird? Maybe throw the background behind the couple out of focus to make it feel more as it if were shot with a camera?

Excellent work as ever. I do agree with Paris though, and think the background should be a little blurred out.

Thanks for the positive feedback, guys! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)

QUOTE (Paris @ Nov 6 2017, 01:10 PM) *
For the front, The depth of field seems a little weird?

I went back and forth on that, but I really liked the painting's texture and had a hard time letting go of it.

Plus, this is a weird case, because I wanted the focus to be "not-Salieri" (left).
So, he dominates the cover but is upstaged by every other element.

You're right that having the background blurred (and a tighter zoom) would probably work just as well for the concept and would work better visually, so I might just be trying to justify not wanting to lose the painting. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

I think the blurred guy looks better if the background is blurred as well, it gives it a realistic perspective. I also think the guy could have been a little less blurred, but as Bazzah said, you should do what you like best (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
