So I keep learning how to use photoshop, but I finally decide to finish my cover for a film that is among my favorites: That Man From Rio / Up to His Ears

It´s a Frech movie from 1964 (L'Homme de Rio) that was partially inspired on the comics of TinTin (and still is the best movie adaptation) in the US it was sold as a James Bond parody, and till this day it's referenced as that, but is ridiculous since other that exotic locations it has absolutely nothing to do with James Bond, and actually it has a lot more to do with Raiders of the Lost Ark, since it was the main inspiration for it.

The movie was a huge succes and even receive an Oscar nomination for Best Screenplay.

For the blu-ray it was double bill with Up To His Ears, a less successful follow-up (not a sequel), but still an highly entertaining movie with amazing locations, both had an great 2K restoration but the cover its just awful:

For instance I have always liked the Spanish Poster

I tried to clean it up, but the style of the painting made that very difficult.

So instead I decide a to do the Jean-Paul Belmondo character in Vector (like in many of my other covers):

First sketch

Finish character:

But I had a lot of trouble trying to blend the small scenes with the background,

I also change the clothes he was wearing (for a more recognizable look for the character) and ended with this

Then I did my cover for The Warriors and I got the idea of also to use the "comic book separations" (it's inspired on the comics of TinTin after all) and imo it work.

The final cover:

What do you guys think?

And sorry that Im still not very good writing in english.

You've got a great cover there. I've not heard of either movie but they sound interesting. I'll have to look them up.

This is very admirable custom work!

Your enjoyment of the films really shines through.

I usually like the choices Cohen Media Group makes for artwork on its releases, but your design seems to fit and celebrate the movies much more than the poster they chose. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cheers.gif)
