Is this OK, does it work? Basically I want to keep it simple with just a couple of pics/posters.
Worth carrying on with it?

Yes good start, maybe add some pillars to the archs. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif) (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

Thought that was a good idea chefjoe and put a central pillar in the arches but unfortunately I don't think it really works with the pics I'm using.

Here's a preview of what I tried.

Good start...but there's something missing..maybe the arches should follow the Doric column styles that are of the time period:

(IMG:http://www.simplenet.com.au/archiclad/images/columns/columns_5.jpg)

Or more like the Roman aqueducts:

(IMG:http://www.bluffton.edu/~sullivanm/spain/segovia/aqueduct/aque2.jpg)

Would put it more in the time period...right now its looking kinda pueblo-ish or stucco-ish...Im getting more of a Spain vibe than Ancient Greece...

Good work...looking forward to seeing more...

Wow, great idea JSAer24. I would lose the center pillars sleepyhead, it looked better before, other than that tho I really like this cover, pretty original considering the rest of the covers out there for this. I also think you did well with the texture outside the posters. well done so far. Keep it up.

Thanks for the input guys. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Tried to follow JSAer24,s idea (Which I liked) and agree it looked a bit like stucco.

Not sure if this looks better or worse! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/chin.gif)

Not just his biceps ETS (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)

maybe adding a bit of shadow on the arches would give the cover a bit more depth?

nice work (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

Brad's biceps....mmmmmmmm...the true star of the movie...LOL

Anyway, I'm just wondering if since the movie is based upon and ancient Greek legend, maybe the Roman architecture (yeah , I know it was my idea in the first place, lol) is a little out of place? I think adding the weathered brick look was good, but still doesn't feel right.
I don't mean to be so picky or critical its just my impression when I see the cover.

Good work...keep it up!

No worries m8 I won't take any comment personal, I know people are just trying to help. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

Anyway added a few layers and synopsis and stuff, hopefully this is looking better. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)

lulubelle will look into placing a shadow behind the arches and see how it looks.
Thanks for the replies guys and gals much appreciated.

looks better (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) and thanks for not covering brad's face (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/winking.gif)

I still think it needs a little bit more depth, but looking great so far (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)

Wow! That looks so much better...The added shadows give a good look...

The movie title looks little and lost on the front cover, though...

This cover is really coming together!

Do you mean top or bottom corky.
At full res they look both OK but I have no problem tweaking them slightly and also re-positioning/sizing the title.

Thought about using a huge font to cover Mr Pitts face lulubelle but then came to my senses, didn't want all the women on the site having a go at me (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/winking.gif)

Very nice... very nice indeed. I like the title and actors names the way it is... gives it a real nice ancient feel to it, and with the shadows and stuff really made that wall come alive. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)
