Some resident artists have recently been complaining about their covers being posted on the site freecovers.net / org.

The moderators have refused to take their covers off..

THAT WAS NOT THE WARNING...

When looking at the site, apart from the millions of pop ups, I picked up TWO TROJANS from the site....

Luckily I have a very up to date security system and it picked them up and deleted them..you may not be so lucky!!

Please take heed if you visit that site... I would recommend not visiting it, and if you have visited it recently ... doing a scan of your computer.

I went there the other day and found my Postman cover so I registered and posted a complaint and didnt even ask to have it removed, just for proper credit to be given and the only responses were two people who welcomed me to the site without even acknowledging the complaint I had registered. It's like the stepford cover site over there. One of Irrob's cover was actually stolen by one of their mods too. Crazy, aint it? By the way, FireFox prevented just about every pop up for me as well.

Used to go to CC when I was desparate, this is the only site I use now. If we don't have it, I'll make it myself. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)

I have a Mac, and thus far never a virus issue.

I would like to thank you very much Lulubelle for the heads up, so that our members can stay virus free.
Is this freecovers site new?

Sounds like they could be a spin off from covers.to as they didnt care what was happening to their site and their members. (No back lash please from old members of covers.to as I have been there before..... warnings can be issued).

This is a matter that I will be taken very seriously. If you find you have been infected from that site and can prove it came from that site, please inform me.

Is it possible to prove without a doubt a virus came from a certain site?

Maybe not but you have just visited the site and within ...say a couple of hours you have major probs, it is likely that it has come from there. That is if the trojan originated from there. WE are guessing of course. Lulubelle may have picked up the trojan from elsewhere.

Who cares we will give freecovers hell for it anyway (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/cussing.gif) (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8824.gif)
