It's always nice to be able to look at Work In Progress. But some folks are a little unsure how to get an image into their post.

First thing is, we do not want you to use attatchments. This uses valuable bandwidth. The quick and easy way to do it is to use one of the free hosting services that are available on the net.

The one I'm gonna show you how to use here is ImageShack

So, I am assuming you have prepared your preview image in something like Imandix

First, go to the Imageshack site. You will be presented with a screen like the one below (ignore the low-life adverts).

Click on the "Browse" button, as indicated, and select the file that you want to upload.

Once you have done that, just press the "Host it" button, which is just four lines down.

This button will now show "uploading" - usually takes a couple of minutes, depending on file size and connection.

You will then be presented with a screen like the one below:

This shows you a thumbnail of your picture, plus a number of clickable links.

I prefer to show the full image, rather than a thumbnail, in my post, so to do that, click on the very bottom link, as indicated.

Once that link is highlighted, right click it, and press "Copy"

You can now come out of Imageshack, and go into your topic on HiRes. And you will get the screen below:

You now simply select the little tree symbol (insert image) as indicated, and a little pop-up screen will appear:

Go to that, click in the line, and "paste".

The previously copied link will appear. click OK.

And that's it! You now have your image sitting in your new post, just waiting for you to add some descriptive text.

If you want to check that it is displaying properly, just click on "Preview Post" at the bottom.

Troubleshooting: No picture showing? Occasionally, the dialogue will repeat [http://] (without the brackets), so that it is shown twice. If that is the case, simply remove the extra one, and your pic should display in all it's glory!! Any probs with this, feel free to ask! (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/arms.gif)
