Hello! I've started doing my first cover set, Band of Brothers. A great series that i coud'nt find any covers for, so... The covers i have seen has been low-res scans where someone has painted om the covers with a magic marker.

I'm trying to do the back of each at the moment. Hard to find pictures to use, series is to old.

Front and spine, i pretty much feel that those are finished. Suggestions and comments are welcome (please be nice it's my first try, ever!).

very nice so far,
i personally would remove the credits from the spine and fronts, typically they are on the back and take away from the artwork on the spines and fronts.

other than that...good start M8, looking forward to seeing some of the back work.

cheers

Thank you for your replys. I will remove the credits when i get home from work tomorrow, and see what it would look like. The reason i have them there is that i seen it look like that on some scans (original cover), and i kind of liked it. The second reason it that i'm worried that it would be too much black on the spine and front, the pictures is only covering 50% of it. I'll give it a try.

I would also remove the tagline and cast from the spine and move the pic down.

What do the other fronts look like?

PS. There's a few very nice BofB sets around (not that this isn't worth continuing).

Is this front better than the old one? Made the men bigger and moved them down, deleted credits.

Starting to work on spine.....

Removed picture to make page faster, new pic below.

This is an awesome series and it is great to see someone making some covers for it. The front image looks good without the credits. Keep it up and can't wait to see what you come up with.

Looking good now.

Personally, I would remove the three logos along the bottom.

I', not that keen on logos on the fronts of covers. But that is just my personal choice. I know lots of folks do like them there. (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/thumb.gif)

Looking good.

I think you'll find that when printed, however, the cast names and "dreamworks" on the spine won't look as good. The curvature of the spines will cause a lot of that text to be "lost" between the covers.

This is good. I can't help feeling that the front would look better if the logo's where removed, then bring in the tagline below the title but move the title up. I would also remove them from the spine and move the dvd logos down in their place. Keep the logo's for the back on this occasion. Now lets see what you are thinking of for the back.

Also what maybe appreciated is doing the same but for a 6/7 disc cover.

Hey man freakin good job. I agree completely that the spanning text won't look as good as the preview when printed and put together.

(IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) I'll go over the front and spine again then, give it a test.

This is what i have in mind for the back. It's in swedish at the moment (I like to have my covers in swedish) I will start to make them in english soon. This is disc 5.
I see now that i don't have all the logos on the back, will have to fix that if I'm to remove them from front and spine..

Disc 6 is the bonus disc.

Pictures removed

BTW. Does any of you have a PLAY TONE logo? I can't find that one anywhere... (IMG:http://www.hirescovers.net/forum/style_emoticons/default/chin.gif)

Tested to print it, and it looked nice.
