Hey all,
Thought this might be a bit of help to those of you still using Photoshop 7 like me, and wanna make 3D popping title treatments.
I've placed this in the beginners guide as it's quite easy to make, but any mod can movie this topic if it's misplaced.
Anyway, here we go.
Step 1: Have a rasterized text on a layer, like this:
1.PNG ( 28.25K )
Number of downloads: 3Step 2: Make a duplicate of the layer, then turn up the lightness by 50%.
Step 3: Place this new layer beneath the original text layer, then hit CTRL+T and set the width to 99% and the height to 99% as well.
Step 4: Repeat step 2 (now WITHOUT turning up the lightness) and step 3 until you reach the desired length of your shadow, and then merge all your shadow layers. In the example below, I went through the steps 10 times.
2.PNG ( 50.72K )
Number of downloads: 12Now you should have 2 layers. Number 1 is the original text layer, and number 2 is your shadow layer. Feel free to play around with colors and textures until you have what you want, i.e. my example below:
3.PNG ( 228.55K )
Number of downloads: 41For optimal viewing experience of the shadow layer, please click on the above finalized example.
Extra tip: If you have the patience, feel free to adjust the shadow layers by 99.5% each time, as this will make your shadow smoother rather than jagged.
I hope you like this small tutorial
