Hey everyone...
After finishing my Transformers covers, I'm still in the mood to work on Hasbro-related movies (and since we've yet to see the much-anticipated Scrabble movie, (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) ) I've started working on a cover for G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra. Here's what I have so far... ![]() I know it's not in Cover Preview mode or even correct dimensions, but I've started working on cover art outside of the templates so that I have more flexibility with the image. I'm sure I'm not the only here who does this, but it's part of my new workflow and it really makes converting to Blu-ray/Disc Labels much easier (no more limbs/background elements/etc getting accidentally cropped off the edge and then needing them again when it's time to make the Blu-ray version!). I'd like to put Rachel Nichols' Scarlett character to the left of Duke, but I need some help with an image of her. Can anybody help me out with a hi-res version of the image below (obviously with a version that doesn't crop her head off) or even one that's similar? ![]() And one last request, anybody have the G.I. Joe movie font? It's called Megahertz-In Italic and I can't seem to find it anywhere... A big thanks to anyone who helps with resources!! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (And to anyone who offers tips for the cover! maybe these help? Thanks SithTyrann, but not hi-res enough. That first wallpaper would be perfect, though. If anybody has it with a height of 2000-3000 pixels, I might be able to use it... Thanks anyway, though! Here's the font, and here's a hi-res pic of her but behind Duke, maybe you can use it anyways.

Thanks for the fonts, guys! Really appreciate it!!
As for the pic, felipe-11, I think that would take a lot of work to be able to use it. It's not bad, but too much is cropped or covered by other elements to really be able to use it... Thanks anyway, though... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8824.gif) |

Here's an update...
I actually found a Scarlett wallpaper that was a little bigger than the one SithTyrann had suggested and was able to use that one. Add her behind Duke and added some other elements here and there with some color tweaks. I'm pretty happy about how this came out so I'll probably start building the cover now... ![]() For those that may be interested, here are the elements I used to create the image above: ![]() This post has been edited by kernie82: Oct 25 2009, 09:35 PM |

Looks really great man (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)
The idea is that they are in the same place? if so I would shrink Scarlett some and\or make Tatum a little bit bigger, so it looks better perspective wise. Only thing I can think of (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) anyways it looks terrific! |

How did you get the face colors right? Hue/saturation? Color brush? Several solid color layers with layer masks and blend mode set to "Color." Doesn't always come out so great, but I got lucky in this case. Yeah, I thought she looked a bit too big back there, but couldn't really tell for sure... I'll shrink her a bit... This post has been edited by kernie82: Oct 26 2009, 10:29 AM |

how you create this, please?! (IMG:http://images.netbag.hu/20091026/14185356671.jpg) It's basically the interaction between the cloud image (see above post) and an Hue/Saturation layer that changes the blue/gray background color to orange. The spikeburst (all the the light rays shooting out) was made using Digital Anarchy's Knoll Light Factory plug-in, which is one heck of a nice set of filters. The embers/sparks are part of the fire image above, with a blend mode of 'Screen' so that it drops out the black. Beyond that, it was kind of a happy accident that it turned out looking so cool... Great work so far Kernie, you just got to love that Knoll Light Factory filter its one of my favorites (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif)
My only suggestion would be to give Scarlett a bit of yellow lighting on the left side of her face. and maybe add a bit of color to the ninja (IMG:style_emoticons/default/8834.gif) |
